Can a local give us the "Skinny" on the LOTO bridge no wake zone??

I know it's posted on the sign, but as I recall, even that wasn't crystal clear. When down for Mem. Day we ran right thru the bridge during the week (never dropped off plane) and did the idle thing on the weekends. BUT, I'm not sure. So, someone who KNOWS please give us the .CORRECT details.

It is no wake only on weekends and holidays from 10am to official sunset. Don't ask what official sunset is. It was pretty funny on the friday July 5th. There was no no wake zone but many thought it was suppose to be no wake. There were yelling and screamming at us to slow down and then they looked over and the water patrol was on plane too. Those people had the most confused look on there face.
