You cant copy and paste pics from your computer straight to the forum.
You need to create an account on a photo sharing site like www.photobucket.com and upload them there. After that click the gear in the upper right hand corner and click "get links", in the links you want the one that starts and ends with [IMG] and post that link in a reply on here. I wanna see these things. |

BBC Double Walled Jacketed Jet Boat Headers TT - but they are wet.
They look pretty good. If they had longer risers they would be a phenomenal deal. I want to try them... What is the difference if they line up? |

I just ran across a few of them on eBay, but I don't know anything about them.
I was trying to find a value for the spare Rewarder headers that I got in my jet boat deal. |

they look like they have more welds then a cmi has. so it does not cost as much for the r&d and the tooling that cmi uses to bend to pips inside of each other. i would buy them. look like a good deal to me.

thats what i tought for that price and shiped not even a used CMI you'll find !
|
For some more money you could take them to a shop and have them powder coated and then the welds wouldnt be all that noticeable anymore.
They look pretty good to me |
It would be nice to see some real test data on them.
|
once i bought an exhasut system for my Ducati , it cam directly from Ducati Corse Italy cost $4000+ it had all the welding on the out side like these .
in italy this Ducati exhaust system are a master piece because they say you can see the craftsmanship wellding . |
For the price I would try them. CMI needs the competition along with all the other over priced marine exhaust manufacturers.

Amen!

Talked to Rich @ XS about a month ago about these. He said they were they were made from 321 stainless. That is not a cheap stainless to buy. Are you the same person who posted these over on performanceboats.com in the forum ? Just asking.
|
A nice stainless header for a REASONABLE PRICE !! It's about fu$#in time someone breaks the stranglehold a couple manufactures have on us ! :cool-smiley-011:
|
321 is generally used for very high-temperature applications. We used it for Indy car headers before we switched to Inconel. I'm not sure how well it holds up to saltwater corrosion versus 316L or 317. If nothing else, it looks as if all the primary pipes are the same length.
|
Do they sell the matching tail pipes?

321 Stainless Steel
Type 321 stainless steel is similar to Type 304 stainless steel, however, it contains a Titanium addition of at least five times the carbon content. This addition is made to reduce or eliminate chromium carbide precipitation - resulting from welding or exposure to high temperatures. Maximum stabilization is accomplished by annealing between 1750° and 1850° F. Type 321 has extensive use in aircraft parts, such as exhaust systems where operating temperatures are higher than 800° F. and where corrosive conditions are not too severe; also because of its resistance to scaling and vibration fatigue. Typical applications: Aircraft Exhaust Stacks and Manifolds, Chemical Processing Equipment, Welded Equipment, Jet Engine Parts, etc 316 Stainless Steel Type 316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts and acids and is more resistant to marine atmosphere because of an addition of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. This addition improves the corrosion resistance of austenitic steels and imparts hot strength characteristics. Another valuable property of Type 316 stainless steel is high creep strength at elevated temperatures. Fabrication characteristics of Type 316 are similar to Type 302 or 304. Type 316 stainless steel has extensive use in chemical processing equipment when better corrosion resistance is required than is afforded by chromium-nickel steels. Also 316 is specified for use with high purity products where product contamination must be held to a minimum. Typical applications are Food Processing, Chemical Processing, Photographic, Pharmaceutical and Textile Finishing Equipment and Marine Exterior Trim. |
Wonder if they could duplicate my Steroid Stellings so i don`t have to have new tails made? Where are you guys finding pricing?
|
How hard could it be to just weld tails on? An inner piece and an outer piece...
Easy, or at least it seems like it would be. I added 6 inches to my Dana risers an it seemed easy. |
Time will tell.
People who buy them please report over the next few years on how well they hold up and what kind of boating you do...ie: river, small lake, big lake, Apache only type seas...lol, how many hrs, and etc. |
Apache ? Just beat on a set with a sledge hammer and run over them with your truck then pressure test . Share the results with us........:coolcowboy:
|
Im in the market for new headers. This may be a good option. At that price i could modify them to work with my dry tails.
