How many lbs of torque do you tighten the transom assembly nuts to on the inner transom assembly?

Good question.... If its a wood transom 20 ft lbs. You can come back 1/2 hr later and it'll take another full turn to get that 20 ft lbs again. Since the wood squishes over time you can keep doing it over and over.... But the 1st 20 will be fine ( for Bravos & alphas)

It is a mercruiser speedmaster III. I torqued the 8 nuts to 30lbs, hope it is correct.

Bravo spec is 35 iirc. I just did mine to where it felt good. Maybe 45 or so

Stick with the Merc spec, they crack fairly easily when over tightened.

So is spec for speedmasters 35lbs? I googled it and cant find anything other than one link talked about 25lbs.

The Mercury manual states...."Tighten elastic stop nuts evenly by hand and torque to 50 lb. ft.".

Yep. Just opened my 1995 manual and it also states 50lbs for III's and V's.
