Like everybody is saying cover your costs and send the rest back to them.

I couldn't, in good heart, keep it either.
I agree with the others, keep 500 to 1000 and return the remainder.

Absolutely true.
Everything we've given has always been given back in one way or another, and for those who just take because it's achievable doesn't make it the right thing to do.

See ya,

what goes around comes around,

beside just because someone called does not mean that they were buying the boat,

Call them and tell them you are returning 100% and if they are good people they will tell you to keep car money. The shoe may be on the other foot someday.

I had a 10K deposit on my old boat last year. The buyer called and backed out a few days later. I sent it all back when he knew I could have kept it. A few months later he wired me the money and bought the boat no issues and a 100% trust in me. Doing the right thing is always a good thing.

Deduct your expenses, and any amount less than the price he agreed to pay for the boat, refund the rest. That would be a fair accounting of what his change of decision cost you.

As much as I'd like to say screw them, I'd probably return it as well. KARMA will get you back in the long run.

Well when I got over being pissed off
Well at least not as pissed off I put the check in the mail
I wasn't going to deposit it and send him half back
Besides even thou I don't have the bad luck like Gino I could just see his check bouncing and mine to him getting cashed
I'll just put it down as I had a good boat ride
And hell they did buy me lunch

Yeah now I feel better plus this weekend at desert storm I won't have to be dreading turning the boat over to someone on Sunday
I know it will sell or maybe something will come up and I won't need to sell it
