https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihN6dNUP5Sc It all happens in a split second. In a car, you often have more warning, the tires are squeeling, car is sliding, but a boat, one second everything is great, and next second you are out of the boat.

Michael
so then we should wear helmets as well?

by the way I have owned a boat for over 32 years now. I know how fast things change from good to bad real quick., I get it ..I just think you guys are over reacting busting this guys chops for no reason ..carry on.

by the way two different examples ..
the guy was out for a ride with family and opened it up for a couple minutes .you are posting videos of a race.. two different things totally.

Maybe this one is more to your liking. Here's a guy just going for a cruise in his bass boat.

Adults can make their own decisions but i personally wouldn't let anyone stand between the seats and probably wouldn't let my kids run without a life jacket at those speeds.

I don't mind if my kids don't wear a jacket at idle, but they are going to wear one on plane for a few more years and i barely do more than about 50

Sydwayz,,you have always been to voice of safety on OSO and we appreciate that but,
we can all pretty much pick apart any video posted on here, whether its boat related, towing, packing bearings, safety straps, chicks pole dancing, well maybe not that,,lol
we have all done stupid $hit over the years,do not tell me you have not done something and latter on think to yourself man that was stupid WTF was I thinking,,I know I have..

I get safety,I have owned a boat way before I had kids, when we had kids the first thing my wife did when they reach the right age is take them to swim lessons, safety jackets? yes all the time while on the boat, could not walk on the pier unless safety jackets were on,and to make it sound cool so they would wear them we called them boat coats, safety is important ,I get it

do people sometimes loose their mind and act stupid ?yes..and even safety jackets cant help them at times.
the 1st think that would happen with those cheap $10.00 orange jackets at faster speeds that most people have would be to rip off your body,,so at times they could be a false sense of security,so why dont we start a thread and talk about the correct life jackets,,like lf we are going to run hard we should all put on our Lifelines,

the guy at the original video was out with his family having fun,,not acting like a jerk, so please stick to the original thread,or I suppose we could spent hours on youtube and post every video of every jack a$$ out there driving a boat.
