I-270 on the north side of St. Louis, to I-370 to I-70. 370 is a nice short cut to I-70, and can save a lot of time if traffic is busy. There is road construction on 270 and also I-70 that can turn it into a parking lot. So take a pit stop shortly after crossing the mississippi river, so you'll be prepaired for a traffic jam if it happens. |
Save 45 minutes
If your navigation skills are good, you can save serious time. Take I72 West at Springfield, IL, to Route 54. You bypass St Louis and I70 altogether. We took this route last month and saved a lot of time.

tinkerboater, chart is right about the 370 interchange it is fast but if you hit 370 and 70 between 3:30-5:30 it's a parking lot for about a couple of miles after that it should open up for you. i live right by that 370 and 70 crossing.
