The night before both Cigarettes, Executioner and Dillinger Raced the first time A truck rolled in to Cigarette from New York with 2 larger engines with more horsepower from JS with a note saying install by morning and dont tell JR. We did but there was hell to pay when JR found out why JS went faster.. good memories good people. They both tipped the employees thousands.

Gino, thanks for posting, especially the list of names.
As can be seen both Elswick and I did not finish that race that is why we are at the bottom of the list. This might have been a race where we did a side bet as to who could get to the first checkpoint first.....XXXXX number of $ and two big egos. Result....you see it here for all the world to see.
After this we used the same tactic with new racers. Hey, Joe welcome to open class. You may not know but there is a big cash prize for the first boat to the first checkpoint. Yes, just wanted you to know everyone is eligible to try for it.
It finally got down to where none of the new guys would talk to Saccenti or me.

Those 2 boats turned me into the boat nut I am today!
You may vaguely remember the competition between Executioner and Dillinger, back then!!!
My best memories I being a kid was at the Benihana and the craziness that went along with racing. My dad, Tony Perry and Rosatti worked on that boat night and day!
When my cousins Mickey and Butch built Star chaser I was a teenager. I use to love bringing girls back to the marina, uncover Star chaser and hang out on the boat like it was mine! It worked better then Patron!!!!!

Very Cool how about 19 boats in open class, do you think we had competition in those days, and on top of that a race course 180 miles long. We were all running basically the same motors, the difference then was the boats and the crews that ran them.
