And for the record the offshore boats are kid friendly. I take my 3 yr old and 21 month old out all the time and they love it. My wife feels that it is more safe than any bow rider due to the high freeboard, length, and ride quality. Maybe your wife should ride in one before she starts saying that they aren't family friendly boats. But we don't bring Cheetos.

I think the point was not really the off shore boats as much as the flat bottom v-drive boats, jet boat or 100 mph boats where sitting down you can reach out your hand and touch the water. My 19 foot 192 wellcraft has high free boat and is a lot safer than some of the go-fast that are really low to the water.

The point is not that the bigger boat are not family friendly is more about getting more boat than you can afford and letting it sit and not being able to use it.
