Give Jay Pilini a call but setup would be pretty straightforward.

Well, the beauty of an outboard is you can replace the whole motor in less than an hour and may not even have to get in the boat. Like to see someone do that with a big block. Working in the bilge sucks...especially with twins.

I do agree, but if I hurt a part with on a SB Chevy I can most likely pick it up at the local shop. I cant do that with a Merc outboard and in some cases that part might be back ordered, or even no longer available.. than I'm searching on S&F trying to buy a used part or waiting for it to become available.

Why not just replace the 280's with 300xs's? :party-smiley-004:

The mid-sections scare me, if your referring to the 3.2/300 engines. I took a HARD turn and snapped on pretty quick a few years back.

I agree about the 250xs's and 300xs's mids stock from mercury. I have broke a couple myself.

Build a set of 15in 300xs's or 300x's and the problem goes away. Use the Mad EFI 300x 15in mid with your Clamp/ Bracket/ Trim from your 280's. It's a great package with amazing fuel economy.
