Keeping old motors running is just as much an art as it is a science of searching for parts....

Yes they will. If you can fit a Bravo you can fit the Arnesons.. Look into the #7M's.

Andy Trouth built a 30' DW or what ever they are called now with a pair of small block's and Bravo's. The new LS motors are very light and very powerful.

If I had the coin to repower I would have bought her last week Rick. Two 300xs' and I think you would enjoy the hull. I know I would. She just needs the torque of the 300s. Hang in there man unless........ good luck.

If that's the one that's been in Jacksonville its the only thing I would want other than an outboard DW. Badass!!!

You can do the "Wayne Taylor" 15" mid's and then purchase two new 300xs motors and do the conversion.. Your looking at 45kish for twins and a hell of a lot of labor on the mid's and a lot of work to put the things together. But it's possible. Know of two 28' Skaters with this setup.

I am also running the same setup. Its actually not all that bad. If you purchase a used set of engines you can do it all for 25Kish. Also, if you have a pair of 260/ 280 offshore mids it makes the conversion very easy.

They make a adapter for my 2.5 mid to adapt the 3.2 powerhead Don? If that is the case you just made my day!

I don't want to side track Rick's Thread here so I will make it short. Yes there are two ways to build a 15in 300xs.

1) Purchase Stock 300xs's with 20in Offshore mid. Purchase a Mad EFI 300x can, shorten drive shaft, and shift shaft and main swivel arm. Re-assemble.

2) If you have a 260 or 280 offshore you can remove the power head, switch adapter plate to a MAD EFI 2.5 to 300x adapter and bolt on 300xs powerhead. You will want to switch the gear ratio for the lower unit to 1.62 to 1. The only draw back of doing it this way is the water pump in the 2.5 gear case is smaller and the engine will start to over heat slightly if held wide open for long runs.
