Proboat if going electric. Make sure you go brushless, good batteries and a good charger are probably the most important things.... I race RC in the winter.

I really want the Traxxes Spartan! That things a beast. I had a Miss Budweiser hydro years back and that was fun. Towerhobbies.com was always the biggest name in RC stuff but also check locally for a hobby shop. May be able to beat online prices?

I have a Traxxas Spartan. It's pretty fun, but the batteries are stupid expensive. $75 minumum for the Li-Pos, and if you flip it, and one flies out, that REALLY sucks.
Ask me how I know that. |
Check out the Aquacraft Revolt 30. Great performing brushless 30" V-hull. I got one last year and began tuning by playing with the CG, strut height and experimenting with props. Got a prop balancer and mini belt sander for sharpening. Currently running 45+ mph and it handles great and responds to changes just like a full size boat. I run 4S lipo batteries. Search Revolt 30 on YouTube. Some guys have upgraded to 6S and they run on the edge of any control at 65+ mph! Good luck, these electric boats are addicting.

hobbyking.get ur lipo batteries from them.i have run them for years they are way cheaper than the name brands and work well.i notice no difference from the expensive ones.i have tried both.turnigy brand.
