Aluminum Heads

Anyone put aluminum heads on there EFI 500HP's ? Wondering if it's worth it on my 32' Fever.

Probably save a hundred pounds or two...

It's probably a great idea in a 32 Fountain, they need all the weight reduction towards the stern they can get.

New 5-6 K cash and carry for two pair of good heads, do the cams at the same time if you do it, and stud kits and, and ,and :eekdrop:

Unprotected aluminum can still be eaten away from electrolysis in fresh water. I'm on a 'certified for drinking water' lake and it happens. So.....order them hard anodized. Edelbrock and AFR can be ordered this way.

I still drain the motor after each day out just in case.

Add a set of cams, computer tune, and you can get to the 575-590hp level. With the heads too of course.

Bob Madera @ Marine Kinetics also has a similar kit now available. It's heads, cam, porting, throttle body, etc. Think he teamed up and had Mark Boos tune it, etc. Sounds like a nice package. I was talking to him about it yesterday.

Mercathode system should be used on aluminum heads even n freshwater to mitigate electrolysis.

Thanks everyone! Anyone install that kit without pulling motors?
