Default Aluminum Heads

Anyone put aluminum heads on there EFI 500HP's ? Wondering if it's worth it on my 32' Fever.

It's probably a great idea in a 32 Fountain, they need all the weight reduction towards the stern they can get.

New 5-6 K cash and carry for two pair of good heads, do the cams at the same time if you do it, and stud kits and, and ,and

Unprotected aluminum can still be eaten away from electrolysis in fresh water. I'm on a 'certified for drinking water' lake and it happens. So.....order them hard anodized. Edelbrock and AFR can be ordered this way.

I still drain the motor after each day out just in case.

Add a set of cams, computer tune, and you can get to the 575-590hp level. With the heads too of course.

Bob Madera @ Marine Kinetics also has a similar kit now available. It's heads, cam, porting, throttle body, etc. Think he teamed up and had Mark Boos tune it, etc. Sounds like a nice package. I was talking to him about it yesterday.

Mercathode system should be used on aluminum heads even n freshwater to mitigate electrolysis.
