Dispelling Rumors of Thunder Power Boats
Hey everyone! Thought I take a second to introduce myself and Maximum Thunder. My name is Julie Brown and I purchased the assests of once known Thunder Power Boats. I kept some of the staff, including Tom Lee, whom after many years of dedicated service has become a vested partial owner as well. Previous owner, Bob, did in deed find himself in some trouble with the feds and I was able to make good on his misfortune. After righting his many wrongs and establishing a good work ethics, our sales have increased and we are growing very strong. This is a very exciting venture and I look forward to meeting many of you.Visit our website...and please help spread the news that we are not associated with Bob in any way....Thanks- Julie

hmmmm...that 43 Renegade looks awefully familiar:rolleyes:
|
familiar to what?
|
a 41 Apache, a 41 New Tech...take your pick...
|
ok ok...we are not jumping on the its an Apache ban wagon....I have already seen that thread...ha ha
|
Interesting-
If you look at the logo on the 43' hull it is a stylized Indian head. Also the picture of the 43' is very reminiscient of the new 41 ,,,, well Ok I will not say it.
It is a good looking hull. When is the in-water testing date? Wannabe in Motor City |
oh its not an Apache?
|
you guys are so hard on us new folks, ha ha....as far as the Renegade, I will update you soon as to performance information....Thanks for visiting the website, but does the music get on your nerves? I have mixed emotions about it. Once again, Thanks....Julie
|
yea the music kills me!!! Its not bad to have it on the opening page or the main page after you enter...but why on every page you open? arrrggghhh!.......but you can always turn the volume down if need be! :D
|
are you the same Julie from Randys shop?
|
I would suggest one thing....
MORE PICTURES!! cockpit, cabins, engines etc. on the website, your not shwoing enough of the boats to make soemone want to come down to the shop and get a first hand look... just a suggestion.... |
Just bustin MAX
Seriously, the website is pretty undesireable and uninformative. I am sure updates are planned and additions are in the works as we speak. Its a great looking boat even with the indian head graphics. Any specs/detaials on cockpit/cabit layouts. Where are the molds/design from? Inhouse? Nothing in-between 24-41 foot for offshore? 24 looks like a fun boat for sure Best of luck |
Julie...sorry, I hope it didn't seem that I was jumping all over you...it wasn't my intention. Good luck with Thunder!
|
Does that 43 come with a choice of twins or trips?
|
That 43 ad is from when apache was new tech and that picture is one that new tech/apache built if I'm not mistaken.
|
You're not Mistaken... now Get Back Too Work!!!!! ;)
|
I know i'm right but just covering my ass, you have to be careful what you say around here.
ps. I hope you have a computer in your bay and your not home yet$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ :D |
Hey Julie,
Fishead here. I have a 32 Maelstrom Cat that I believe is the same thing as your 32 cat.It had taken on water and I am rebuilding.Awesome boat.Had it running this season but was still dialing in when I blew an engine.I need some help with this please contact me at [email protected] |
Fishhead, The 32 King Fish that I build is a Mike Peter's Maelstrom design. Very well could be the same. I will email you. You are right, it is an awesome boat. That is why we make it in two models, the SportCat and The KingFish. Funny thing, fisherman like to go fast now a days too......What power and speeds on yours? 87, must be the closed deck with rear engine hatch? I will send you pictures of the latest, up dated sport deck model...Thanks alot and I will talk to you soon.........
Julie By the way guys.....I am working on the website....more pictures to come....thanks for the input... |
keep up the good work at thunder, like the web page. Mark
|
Julie,
It is the Michael Peters Design and is the closed deck. The funny thing is it was made for small blocks.I just blew an engine and I am going to repower.I am running Kaama Surface drives at a 1 to 1 ratio and Twin Disc Trannys at 1.54 to 1.I was not able to get much speed turning 26" pitch props. At 4000 RPM I was only getting about 45mph.I would love to put big blocks in but I do not think they will fit.I am looking at supercharging the small blocks, any suggestions.I love this boat and want to keep it.There is some bottom work that needs to be done. There are some spray rails on the inside of the of the sponsons that are really chewed up and I think that the spray is comming up and hitting the bottom of the hull. There is a rooster tail but it is comming from the transom and not the props, this is probably slowing me down.Anyway in two weeks I will be on the east coast of FLA and would like to come over and see the shop and talk to you in person to figure this out. Just wanted say Hi Julie....I bought a 41 King Cat from the previous owners, and while I had a lot of trouble at times getting them to help me, you have been great about everything I have needed. Glad to see that you are letting everyone know that you are seperate from Thunder Power Boats. Once agin, thanks for all you do for me and the other customers....You really show you care. And yes the boat runs great.....120 mph last run.....cant wait to play some more.

32 king fish
Julie glad to hear that you own Thunder Power Boats. I own one of the 32 king-fish they built in 2000. We love it and fish the SKA circuit under the banner Team Warpath. Great boat, but we have a little problem getting the boat to ride dry in a following sea. Other than that it is a wonderful boat. James
P.S. Any secrets to the get boat to run a little faster with twin 250's:) |
Website Music
Julie, can the music on the website!
I don't know who picked it, but yuck. |
Fishead....
Sorry it took so long, but I am really suprised to hear such slow speeds, even the open fish boat are seeing 70+mph w/outboards. I also had a open deck w/502's in it that did 107 mph. Please email me some pics to me at [email protected]. We will certainly help you any way we can. We are building a 32 SportCat right now that will house 2 BigBlock Chevys. I can send you some pictures. Well, look forward to speaking to you. Julie |
jonesj,
Glad to hear that everythings OK with the boat. How are the tournaments going, I would love to speak to you and maybe use some pictures in the current newsletter. I have been trying to reach everyone that owns a Thunder Power Boat. What speeds are you seeing with the 250's? Are they Mercs? What kind of seas are you running in? Please email me and let me know more about your experience with this boat. Thanks- Julie |
WEBSITE MUSIC
OK I got the thumbs down on the music. We are changing the entire site. I will keep everyone posted....Thanks
|
well?
so, did you or did you not work with Randy?
|
No, I never worked with anyone named Randy...sorry.
|
never worked at Cobra?
|
Where I came from
Well, I have a minute to answer some questions now. To start...no I never worked at Cobra.
I bought Thunder Power Boats in April, after working with the previous owners for quite some time. The owners were involved in an outside deal that led them to some federal time. I had the oppurtunity to purchase at that point and I did just that. Prior to this company, I was in property management and ran a large corporation. I have a background in the medical field, working as a CMA for an orthopedic surgeon and I graduated from the Justice Academy. I have done alot of work for attorneys as well. I have always enjoed the outdoors, boating, four-wheeling, motorcross...you name it. I have two children, girls, 11 and 9. They love boating too. I also raise Akitas, Japenese dogs. I have been following OSO for about a year or so now. I never registered until recently, though. I really enjoy the threads, just hate when people abuse them. Well, I got a company to run...but I will be back. Anyone going to the FT Lauderdale show? I would like to meet some of you. I will have the 50 Tournament in that show. Thanks again....Julie |

:D :D :D Sorry...I couldn't resist. Welcome to the board. Good luck with your new career! |
Noooo Fred...that was the sister of the guy who worked for Zul, who was actually married to the cousin of the guy from Troy Dennis...you know Troy, don't you???
|
You guys are terrible...and way off subject, lol.
No my cousin is still my cousin, and my ex husband remains my just that....not a member of the family. |
