What is the better prop for my boat
I have a 272 Baja running a 502 Magnum.
When I bought the boat it came with a Mirage 23 pitch prop. and a spare prop which was a Bravo One 26 pitch prop. The 23 runs fine but just for a change I thought I might change and put the 26 on the boat. I have heard I will get a better hole shot and be able to plane at lower speeds.
Would someone know if this too much pitch for my boat and will it cause the engine to "lug". The diameter on the 26 is also larger than the 23 so I don't want to switch if it is going to damage the engine.
Thanks very much.

That 26 is too much pitch. A 24" labbed by BBlades is what most run for 4 blade on your boat. I have the 275 with 496 HO and which is same hull but different deck as yours. I ran a 23" Revolution 4 with good results. My main prop is a 23" Mirage Plus done by BBlades.

Thanks very much for your reply. You are 100 % correct. I swapped the prop to the 26 pitch and it ran well at the lower RPM but I couldn't get any more than 4400 RPM and about 55 MPH out of it. With the 3 blade I was getting 66 at 5100 RPM. Looks like it is back to the 3 blade and I will keep the 4 blade as a spare for an emergency. Thanks very much for your reply. WFW
