Marketing, value, price, helicopter, facilities, people, prizes........someone is doing right this weekend
Personally I know of 6 performance boats that call the 1000 islands their home, and they are all trailering to Buffalo this weekend.
I want to make it clear that the folks from Buffalo never intended this to be competition for the 1000 islands run, in fact they have made all attempts to be on a different dates and have communicated directly to PRA to try to be on opposite weekends. The other party was not so cooperative
Buffalo is non profit. What they do with "our" money never ceases to amaze me
Early entry for Boat, Driver and passenger -$300 total!
Dinner both Friday and Saturday with food quality you would expect at a very nice wedding
A 4-5 star facility with free docking
Top quality drivers polo shirt and t-shirt for the passenger
Coozy, stickers, etc
This year an embroidered fat towel (not kidding)
Cash prize for poker winner
Significant donation to charity
The most helpful people you will find on the planet, hands down!
Helicopter photography, and on water photography
A band new loaded 3500 Dmax diesel truck to a lucky hand that pulls a Royal Flush!
24 hr security for boats and trailers!
These guys should do consulting work for other poker runs, or maybe they should be running our gov't???......it's that good.

So what you're getting at in some kinda round about way is that it's just a slightly better run event!
Gawd I wish the Kingston folks would show some vision with this thing, they really have let this thing slide down...i remember thus used to be THE Event
I will be there, haven't missed one in 14 years but as a spectator, maybe next year when I move up to 29-31' I will be part of it

One of the thing that we take pride in Buffalo is we have often been called the "Gentlemen's" poker run, over the years we have had many guys start at the Buffalo run, including a 22ft chapparal villian, a 23 ft powerquest, and many 24/25 ft Baja's and other makes in that range, even a few cruiser over the years, ya sure the hardware is gonna be very impressive this year, and the guys here are trying very hard to make sure this runs stays about the people first then the hardware, we have a 23 ft Baja running this year and he is just as important as the guy with the 40+ ft boat,

I'll be in the islands for Pirates Weekend and too watch Poker Run....but think next year will be in Buffalo as well. Have not heard one negative thing about this run and every year it is getting more and more impressive. Great weather this weekend in WNY and best of luck to the Buffalo Run...cant wait to see pics.
