Default Rich Luhrs Honored

Congratulations Rich Luhrs—offshoreonly.com's very own T2X—on this much-deserved award, http://speedonthewater.com/in-the-ne...-luhrs-honored.

I honestly don't know. Perhaps he'll come on here and clarify. I don't know, though, it might be dangerous to suggest that Rich has any relation to "fishing" boats. He is, however, and avid Scuba diver.

An antique dude racing antique boats.

Or as he likes to brag, "obsolete and proud of it."

Nice honor!

Congrats Rich. I can still remember as just a young boy, sitting and listening to his stories around the campfire. He first raced the dinosaurs across the waters of his local beach area and that gave him a love of racing on water he still carries.

Well deserved. Thanks for the coverage Matt.

I am not related to the Luhrs "fishing boat" people, although the Luhrs name is not very common and we must merge somewhere up the family tree back in Germany.....Also I did not have any ownership at Eltro Boat co. , although I did race for them in the 60's.. I was truly humbled and surprised by the award..and it really should have gone to a number of folks who helped me over the years (decades). George Linder, Ken Adams, Elbie Kronenberg, The Kalibats, Phil Lewis, Bill Imboden, Dick Crippen, Art Eckmann, Mercury Marine (and Kiekhaefer Mercury), Bob Paterson, Roger Hinsdale, Ken Kitson, Mark Rotharmel, Dave Patnaude, my son, Darren, and a slew of others......

Thanks to all for your kind words
