Default Merc Blue or Cobra Power

Just looking for opinions...03 Sunsation 288 MCOB w/496 Mag. I have been looking for a 32 MCOB with 496 HO's but there just are not any around at the moment so i am thinking of keeping my 288 which i really like (just looking for more speed with the 32 & twins) and selling my 496 and putting in a 525 or Cobra Power in the 600hp range they have 700/w headers in the classifields with only 3 hrs. that could be had for about the same as or less than a 525 buy the time i buy headers for it. So what are you thoughts 525 or Cobra? reliability, maint. etc,,,?

I'd think in reality cobra Will match merc hour for hour in the same horsepower bracket.

They have built a solid name.

I think the Cobra motors will be just as good as the Merc motors.. Randy does very good work. The issue I see is resale value. No matter how good those Cobra motors are, if you ever plan to sell the boat, most buyers will be looking for Merc.
