20 plus years in this business, first time I have seen a transom shield and bellhousing, separate like that ????????

They are not separated. Still bolted together nicely

Seriously though, I wish this was the worst of it. I hit something submerged running about 55mph, trashed the drive, broke a u-joint and destroyed the transom assy. Parts were flying everywhere and making lots of crunchy sounds.
