Keith Atlanta 08-20-2014 10:15 AM

Gives new meaning to "your props are too deep". Yeah!

buck35 08-20-2014 10:22 AM

Looks like a resurfacing prop to me. OUCH!:eekdrop:

20 plus years in this business, first time I have seen a transom shield and bellhousing, separate like that ????????

snapmorgan 09-08-2014 03:45 PM

They are not separated. Still bolted together nicely

snapmorgan 09-08-2014 03:48 PM

Seriously though, I wish this was the worst of it. I hit something submerged running about 55mph, trashed the drive, broke a u-joint and destroyed the transom assy. Parts were flying everywhere and making lots of crunchy sounds.

donzi matt 09-08-2014 04:13 PM

Holy chit man, your lucky you didn't sink the thing.

snapmorgan 09-08-2014 04:18 PM

Came close. Luckily I was only about a mile from a ramp and a pontooner pulled me over to it. Floated it on the trailer and all went better than expected. See, all pontooners aren't bad.

Now that I have everyone's attention, I will be needing a complete HP transom assy and a BBC bellhousing and coupler. Need to be in like new condition. PM me if you have all or some. Thanks

Crunchy, good when eating. Bad when boating.

ICDEDPPL 09-08-2014 04:40 PM

They used to be on a race boat called Rascal, it seems they had about 8 or so races on them, bought the boat with them on and of course they break on me, 2nd time out. Wap wap waaaaa!

I did that once but it torched my block between two cylinders. 389 Tri Power in a Raysoncraft V drive.

Was cruising in 20 ft of water 4 years ago doing about 90 when all of a sudden out of no where the center engine reved up to rev limiter. Quickly backed off and shut down. Can't see 6 inches in the dirty lake water so we lifted dives all the way and I reached down to feel a missing bottom half of an NXT. Idled back on 2 engines and pulled out. This was 5 days before lake cumberland poker run. Was able to get a new drive shipped in and we installed just in time to make it down Thursday morning.

Damn brother.... you're close too. I'm assuming you're up around french island alot - never seen the boat and never go up that way.

No transom damage?

snapmorgan 09-08-2014 07:38 PM

No transom damage. I usually boat on Barkley and Ky, but when I go to the river I put in at Mt Vernon and run between there and Evansville. I was just down river of Dead Man's Island when all hell broke loose.
