im paralyzed from waist down from dirt bike accident when i was 25 so stand up bolsters would be a *****. my formula 370ss works perfect as cockpit is sit down helm. Ultimatly a 36 gladiator will be in the aresanal but smaller hot rod would be nice when not taking the big boat out.

Activator/Rage. Best single engine V-design out there. And best rough water boat you can get.

Tuff 28... 95.5mph with a stock single 525.

30Y2K. Most bang for the buck.

I LOVED my 29 Kryptonite and that would be a great boat for you.
I also had a 22 Donzi Classic and that was a blast to drive! |
As others have said - Congrats on not letting the injury slow you down.
Disclaimer - I don't have any experience in most of the boats mentioned here and so don't really have a frame of reference. You haven't mentioned budget, so if you're looking at all the options check out Schiada. I have a 24 Schiada. They're heavy and solid. No rattles. Sit down, deep V. Without throwing rocks at any other brands, their rigging is second to none. If you want pics of any rigging or wiring I'll pm them or post them, your call. I've got a BoostPower 600 CID with their compound supercharger setup, it makes a conservative 900HP on 91 octane. If you want more Alexi will dial in more. It's got big tabs and a standoff box, no molded in swim platform or beak. The boat thinks it's bigger than a 24. Other brands incorporating a beak and molded platform would probably call it a 27 or 28. (which would make the insurance premium a bit less) I'm not going to get into a pissing contest re. mph but I can be fully loaded i.e full of fuel, anchors, loaded cooler, and 5 people in the boat and I'll show you 90+ on the GPS speedo without much drama. If you need something special done to accommodate your injury, I'm sure Lee and the crew at Schiada will be more than happy to figure it out with you. The only issue might be lack of freeboard, They're low, which can make for a wet ride when the wind kicks up. There also isn't much of a cuddy. If you have to get out of the weather, and you get along with 1 other person you'll be ok, but everyone else is gonna get wet. We have some big inland lakes here in MI and the boat just eats up the chop. The great lakes are another story. The 24 works great for us because when Lake Mi blows up It's a rough ride and not much fun no matter what size boat you have. I can't say enough good about the boat, Schiada, or BoostPower. The test drive is the relatively inexpensive part of the boat purchase. Get a ride in all of them before you spend your money. Best of Luck. S |
