Rage or activator comes to mind also. I'd love to have one of the new activators made by mange over in Sweeden.
I just stopped by a friends Afew weeks ago and looked at his new 28 rage in person and I was pretty impressed. Quality of the glass work was amazing, the whole boat was put together well |
Phantom, Velocity vr1 can be a sit down.
|
30 outerlimits is a hot rod

What's top speed, why no full headers?
In fact, I think there's yet another thread on this last day or so. It mentions the Stainless Marine exhaust as a replacement although must drill/tap some extra holes as some of the 525 exhaust bolt hole locations are not standard BBC. |
29 ol . Great boat ! But you could find a older boat for cheaper. Because the 29 ol is new there is not a bunch lying around. I would say 29 fountain . It would be less expensive and they run pretty good.
|
How about a Activator or Laveycraft, Bill from Diamond Performance has a Laveycraft for sale.
|
30 Y2K , biggest 30 you'll ever drive. Note that most of the people saying Superboat have owned one.

a 30' phantom open cockpit call Will Smith

Top speed.....I've seen 80 once or twice, 76-78 is typical. That's with a labbed 28P bravo. I usually run a 26P Maximus, top speed is down around 4-5 MPH, but the mid range is much better. With all due respect to the OL, I'm sure it's a great boat, but you can buy 2 Superboats for what the OL costs. |
Velocity VR 1 meets your requirements.
|
Kryptonite if you can find one.
|
Just saying......... www.bananaboatco.com
Newly built 28 footer that was formally the Magnum and Cigarette 28 foot hulls. |
27' or 29' Progression won't find a better built boat,mine runs 100+ Whippled 525 efi IMCO SCX4
|
I know the issues with the cmi headers, I've replaced my etops at about 350-400 hrs due to cracking and pin hole leaks. Still worth it in my opinion to have full headers, can't beat the look when opening engine compartment
|
Any experience or ride quality on the adrenaline v30?? Nice on v30 with twins, believe they did build a single 700
|
How does the Progressions handle the rough water ? I know they have been around awhile but never seen one in person. I think most are in the Northeast area running around especially New York. I know they are made in NY.
|
They handle great in rough water, one of many reasons I bought it.
|
the new 26 LS . From the original Team Scarab mold by Speedster powerboats great in rough water Just saying.
|
I absolutely love my kryptonite.
|
Just curious but why a sitdown?

im paralyzed from waist down from dirt bike accident when i was 25 so stand up bolsters would be a *****. my formula 370ss works perfect as cockpit is sit down helm. Ultimatly a 36 gladiator will be in the aresanal but smaller hot rod would be nice when not taking the big boat out.

Activator/Rage. Best single engine V-design out there. And best rough water boat you can get.
|
Tuff 28... 95.5mph with a stock single 525.

28 joker

30Y2K. Most bang for the buck.

I LOVED my 29 Kryptonite and that would be a great boat for you.
I also had a 22 Donzi Classic and that was a blast to drive! |
As others have said - Congrats on not letting the injury slow you down.
Disclaimer - I don't have any experience in most of the boats mentioned here and so don't really have a frame of reference. You haven't mentioned budget, so if you're looking at all the options check out Schiada. I have a 24 Schiada. They're heavy and solid. No rattles. Sit down, deep V. Without throwing rocks at any other brands, their rigging is second to none. If you want pics of any rigging or wiring I'll pm them or post them, your call. I've got a BoostPower 600 CID with their compound supercharger setup, it makes a conservative 900HP on 91 octane. If you want more Alexi will dial in more. It's got big tabs and a standoff box, no molded in swim platform or beak. The boat thinks it's bigger than a 24. Other brands incorporating a beak and molded platform would probably call it a 27 or 28. (which would make the insurance premium a bit less) I'm not going to get into a pissing contest re. mph but I can be fully loaded i.e full of fuel, anchors, loaded cooler, and 5 people in the boat and I'll show you 90+ on the GPS speedo without much drama. If you need something special done to accommodate your injury, I'm sure Lee and the crew at Schiada will be more than happy to figure it out with you. The only issue might be lack of freeboard, They're low, which can make for a wet ride when the wind kicks up. There also isn't much of a cuddy. If you have to get out of the weather, and you get along with 1 other person you'll be ok, but everyone else is gonna get wet. We have some big inland lakes here in MI and the boat just eats up the chop. The great lakes are another story. The 24 works great for us because when Lake Mi blows up It's a rough ride and not much fun no matter what size boat you have. I can't say enough good about the boat, Schiada, or BoostPower. The test drive is the relatively inexpensive part of the boat purchase. Get a ride in all of them before you spend your money. Best of Luck. S |
