Didn't know him well. I was a young guy and the first time i broke 100 on a boat was one of his first builds. I was impressed that he was only a handful of years older than me, and already had his company, build his own boats, and it was a bad ass machine. RIP.

Sorry for the loss and prays to the family. I did not know him personally but followed everything Mike and Outerlimits has done in a short amount of timeframe. They also made / produced some NHRA Funny Car bodies. Also a couple of years ago there was a great in depth article about Mike & Outerlimits in Professional Boatbuilder Magazine that was one of the best detailed stories I have read in years.

I am so sorry for his family's loss! I can't even imagine what his wife and children must be going through right now. What a tragedy. :( God bless the Fiore family and may he RIP.

My heart literally sank when I read this this morning. Thoughts and prayers to the friends, family, and OL crew. I never met Mike but by all accounts he was an outstanding person, always willing to talk to anyone no matter who they were. I have always admired his boats and his willingness to to push the envelope. In what seems to be a sport that is dying a slow death, he was one of a small few who were forging ahead to try and keep this sport we all love as viable as possible. It really hits home in such a small tight nit community such as this when we lose someone of such importance. I hope that someone can carry out the Mike's visions and keep the company that he worked so hard to build in the forefront. GODSPEED MIKE.

I got the opportunity to spend two days with Mike at his factory to work on a defense project, and we tested an SV43 with Mike at the helm. I've always admired what he accomplished, and how he ran his business, and how he treated his customers. To me, he was a great American who got how things worked, was motivated to take risk and push the envelope. The very fact that it was him out throttling the boat instead of someone he could have hired says everything about him. RIP Mike.
