So sad to see, and not at all what I was expecting to read when I logged on earlier this morning. :(
Like many others here I never had the privilege of meeting Mike face to face but his character and integrity spoke for itself.. My thoughts & prayers are with the entire family, friends, and employee's at Outerlimits.. I guess one thought that keeps coming to my mind is just the simple fact that I like many others can be sitting here a long long ways from Rhode Island grieving over a loss like this really shows not only the tight knit community around here, but the sheer impact he had not only as an innovator but a true leader in the sport we all love so much.. Those are two traits that don't always go hand & hand, however those were two traits that he obviously possessed and utilized very well.. I'm smart enough to know that it takes an entire team to rise to the top and he sure didn't do it alone, nor did it happen overnight, but man what an impact his work made in such a short life !! He undoubtedly continued to push the envelope to be better & better with each new creation that came through their factory, therefore having a big hand in pushing the entire industry to be at their best, and for that I'm very grateful !! May you rest in peace brother and may the Lord wrap his arms around your family as only he can, Scott |
Everyone in the Poppa Family sends our sincere condolences to the Fiore Family and close friends. What a tragic loss of a great innovator, and more important - father and husband. Mike was so kind to us and complimentary when we restored our boat and then was always so upbeat and nice when we'd see him at the races. He leaves a huge hole in the powerboat industry and the hearts of his loved ones.
RIP Mike, you will be missed and never forgotten. |
Prayers going out to Mike's family and the entire OL community.
Earlier last week Mike told me he felt he had the greatest job in the world because he got to build cool stuff and people paid him to do it. Our conversation consisted of Mike listening as much as talking; about a project I looked forward to working with him on. Mike's passion was the continual improvement of his own designs, a testament to his character. Please grant the Fiore family and the Outerlimits organization the strength to carry on in the memory and honor of Mike. |
From all of us at Pilini Marine Technologies our most sincere condolences and thoughts go out to the family, friends, and crew at Outerlimits. I feel honored to have known him and respect all that he has done for our sport and the performance industry. He will be missed by all......
RIP Mike Sincerely, Jay Pilini |
RIP Mike, My condolences to your family. I always enjoyed visiting with you at Miami. Your boats were always cutting edge in both design and quality.

There just aren't the right words for these situations. Most if not all of us on this site have the urge to push the limits, be careful because it can happen to any of us even the best as we've seen. My deepest sympathies to all of those whose lives he's touched.

Very saddened by this news. Just yesterday while out on a fishing party boat with my daughters, I see a Go-Fast fly by, It reminded me of the accident and I told them what happened but luckily everyone was ok but busted up. Today like almost everyday, I go on OSO and I am shocked by the news. Very Very Sad. Rest in peace Mike. You were truly an innovator in the sport we all love. You built the boats most could only dream of owning. Condolences to family and friends.
