17 Years ago, I walk into Mike's shop as a punk kid with a big idea. I said "we need a center console to run 90, can you do it?" From that day on he has been a true friend, a mentor and a hero. I have traveled the world and back with Mike and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Mike you have provided me with so many memories and experiences that could never be duplicated. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the entire family, and let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Rest in Peace my Brother.

God damn, it's amazing how many people this affects when stuff like this happens. I never met him, but was there when it happened, and it feels like losing a family member... This has been such a terrible past 12 months for our sport, and I hope nothing but the best for his family.

"If you want the ultimate thrill, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price." - Mark Foo (big wave surfing legend)

It may be true, but it sucks just as bad when we lose someone. The accidents these last few years have been heartbreaking.

Godspeed, Mike. Condolences to his family.

this really underscores the inherent dangers in powerboat racing. it is by far one the most dangerous and lethal sports, and with such a small community, losses hit close to home. what a sad way for a young life to end....doing what he loved, risking it all for for the entertainment of his family and fans. deepest sympathies to mike's family and inner circle.

in addition to remembering mike, we should all take a moment to also show our respect and appreciation for all the race teams and drivers out there who just like mike, put it all on the line for the enjoyment and entertainment of their family, friends, and fans.

respect to all
