fiberglass work is not for the faint of heart thats all i have to say about it.

Nevermind the obvious that the best of the best are struggling

I will say that there is a shortage of knowledgeable marine diesel shops and people that can take on real jobs like pulling trannys doing headgaskets etc etc rigging hydraulics correctly. in my area at least

Buy the mold and rent it out to guys that wanna build their own. So many rot box old boats getting scrapped, make your own fresh hull.

This is a disaster waiting to happen. Look at what happened to Skater 40, he bought the Spectre molds (very good molds) and backed one guy out of California who went bust then leased them to Frisini and then had to sue to get them back.

A finished hull with no power is a better investment for a novice than trying to build a new boat from nothing.

FWIW, that is not the Cigarette 28 mold, at least according to the picture in the ad representing the "Cigarette 28".

As is typical someone is using the term "Cigarette" as a style not a brand....so there is no mystery to be solved.

Cheers,

Dave

It is a 28 Cigarette hull with a newly designed deck on it. I remember reading the article about how they took a mold off the old 28 and they were rigging them with singles only.

Interesting to know...but from the pic I can't seem to see the tale tale "moulding bulge" around the top perimeter of the hull that is on the CIg 28..and from the pic the front strakes look more upward curving than a Cig 28. But, it could just be the poor quality photo combined with my old azz eyes. :-)

Cheers,

Dave

I think they took that second gunnel out too .I always liked the profile of the 28 Cigarette but when i saw one in person and saw that second gunnel on it I was like what a ugly addition to put on such a good looking hull . totally turned me off the 28.

Always wondered why they would do that until Brownie explained why.

The new deck they built was ugly as hell to because they added so much height to it in the stern so that they could have the height in the engine compartment .

So in answer to the OP's original question...

That is a big fat NO, NOT The Cigarette 28 Mold for sale, just a "cloned and modified copy of a Cig 28 Hull" mold for sale...LOL

I've spent many hours aboard the 28 Cigarette...tough as nails build, gives a great ride when the water gets rough. The only flaw that comes to mind is they sit low in the water when not underway, especially bad when another powerboat buzzes by and sends a wake over the low stern. I seem to remember a minty original one for sale here on OSO a few years back.
