** Formula 370SS Power Upgrade??? ***100MPH***

If you go away from the B3, and into an XR-like platform, now you are going to have to play with height and blade counts to get out of the hole, and then speed.
On second thought; EF this Bravo-whatever conversation. Just go Arnesons. They are the secret to all joy.

This is a great conversation to have with Brett at BBlades or similar.

The big question is how much do you want to spend to go faster. I went from 71 to 78-79 with all my upgrades, by changing my prop height i think i can get a couple more. As dave said the limiting factor is the manifold as you wont get much over 5100-5200 rpm, BUT you will have tons of torque to get a big boat moving. every change is going to make another change, unless you really want to go crazy with it, do some small mods, boost the power to a decent range, go to xr B3's and new props and enjoy it in a faster range, but not sacrifice the reliability.

Exactly my point. I took stock 502 mags dumped 20k into them and constantly had problems. By the time Things got. Straightened out i was done and sold it. I would however puff up the 500 efis and put arnesons on it. That would be an awesome set up.

We did a 400SS with 500EFI. Boat would run upper 50's with B3 drives. Rebuilt engines with afr heads, custom cam and Whipple MOAC supercharger system. It made 900 HP on the dyno. We switched to B1 XR drives and the boat now runs low 70's. Props have never been dialed in correctly so we don't really know the true potential. How much faster is the 330? Should be pretty easy to verify and that will give you an idea of where you can get. Bottom line is it takes a lot of HP to get speed gains in those big boats.

So im rolling past 550 hours on my Formula 370SS with 500efi's, owned since new. What a beast of a boat!!! If you havent had the pleasure of boating in the 370 or 40SS line from Formula put it on your list.
My question is REPOWER/UPGRADE?? Im due for an engine rebuild, motors are still sealed from factory and on borrowed time, Tic Tock....
Looks like im looking at 10k per engine for rebuild. im seeing adds that i could swap for 525 or rebuild my 500's to higher performance specs 550-625 hp for basically same cost. My drives are bravo 3X and think 28P 3blade SS wheels.
I dont want to kill the reliabilty and general running of the boat. Most of my time is spent cruising 3400 rpm at 38mph. The boat seems tuned and propped correctly i hit 5200 rpm (cool days) and seen 62.6 mph. She will run 60mph most days with light fuel and one hot chick for stick handeling purposes!!!
I would enjoy the boat to be able to run north of 70mph if possible and elevate my cruise speed. How do i get there?????
Oh and for comical purposes and hitting powerball how about the *100MPH in the title, 1075's??

We had a stock 330ss that ran low 60's with stock 454's and B3's, built a set of 555's fuel injected motors with XR's to only and only get it to 70 mph. So then added 3.3 liter whipples that dynoed at 839hp. The boat only got to 77.8 mph. It can be expensive and exhausting trying to get a cruiser to run. Was it cool, hell yeah. Was it smart, well that is yet to de determined..
All things considered I would just rebuild what you got..
