"Unleashed" Cigarette Marriage proposal gone wrong!
After 9 years I finally decided to propose to Kristy "NevrThrottleBack". If only it was that easy...........
One of our first dates I took Kristy out Jet Skiing on Lake Michigan. So my original plan was to propose to her last year in front of the sleeping bear sand dunes Manitou Islands on our skis. Drove all the way over there to find out the batteries were dead! (which were new that summer) Had the ring hooked to floating key chains and everything. Then we bought Unleashed and I thought it might be pretty cool to propose to her the first time we break 100mph together! So yesterday during our second time running the new boat I was ready! The ring in my left pocket, Fuel tanks full of 112 Race/90Non Ethanol, and the sun finally out after a week of rain! Kristy was looking good at the helm and I was on the sticks. Lake Michigan had a nice 3' Chop and Unleashed was eating it up just begging for more. So I eased forward on the sticks and could hear the pipes singing even with the headsets on. 60mph....70....80.....6000rpm's of pure bliss! KABOOOM! Starboard engine self destructed! Seriously!? Did that just happen? First off the engines are brand new only a few hours. There was plenty of throttle left and was looking forward to that 7500rpm redline. After assessing the situation I came to the realization that summer was F***ing over! Between the jet ski batteries and this I almost threw that damn ring into the lake! But I looked over at Kristy and realized how lucky I was to have her by my side. I told her I loved her and we would get through this together. Then I proposed! She said YES, Smiled and then laughed when I told her my original plan. We both were pretty upset and emotional over the boat breaking unexpectedly. Creaming the fresh paint into the dock didn't help things out one bit. But we are so lucky to have the powerboating community by our side. The support we have received over the past day has been overwhelming. I tried to convince people that I wanted to sell the boat but you ALL wont let me! LOL! What good friends. Its pretty amazing how much us Go Fast boaters have to offer each other. Kristy and I don't know what life would be like without Offshore Powerboating. Thanks for all the support! My cell phone batteries been on fire! I will start a thread highlighting our build once we figure out the plan. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...-facelift.html Short Video of the boat running https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=259761380901875 http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/...pse391fbf6.png |
Sofa king cool!! Congrats to you both:coolcowboy:
Chris PS - sorry about the Cig:angry-smiley-038: |
cant count on technology to make a relationship work. It's going to take old fashioned physical effort.
Sorry for your bad luck. Bet the jet ski would not have let you down again :drink: |
Congrats on the Engagement by the way!!!!!!!
Hang in there guys. I know at the moment its very discouraging what happened with the engine, but, its just an engine, and it can be fixed. You have a beautiful boat, a unique boat, definitley one worth putting the effort into. That thing will run next spring!!! ;) |
Will trade for new dry sump oil pump, crank, bearings, etc., etc. LOL!:lolhit:http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4679d817.jpg

Kevin, you didn't mention the engagement when we talked. Congrats to the both of you. By the way, don't let Kristy talk to my wife. She would be more than happy to take jewelry in for trade for some engine work. Not sure where she would possibly put it, but she would gladly take it.lol
Hang in there. It gets better. Talk soon buddy. Eddie |

May I suggest that for the wedding and honeymoon that you be a little more conservative in the approach. Lord know we don't want anything breaking then!!!

Kevin I am so glad Kelly doesnt know what an open end wrench is. She would be pulling a motor out of our boat for diamonds. You guys are great and both Kelly and I are sincerely happy for you guys. |
Congrats.
|
Congrats!!

Congrats to both of yall, sorry about the engine.
On a side note, that thing sounds R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S |
I'm still giggling after listening to those tractor pipes. You have a discerning eye: boat, wife, and ring! That motor is nothing compared to braces, school supplies, summer camps. JK.
Congrats |
Congrats !! :bestwishes:
