Flat bottom or straight bottom

I keep hearing and seeing people refer to non stepped hulls, as flat bottoms. I don't like it. There is nothing flat about the bottom of a non stepped cigarette.

When I hear flat bottom, I think of little v drive boat or those square bow aluminum fishing boats .

Mr Maine 09-16-2014 07:37 AM

It reminds me of a phillips head vs straight slot screwdriver. I hate it when people call them flat heads, just sounds stupid to me....

F-2 Speedy 09-16-2014 07:58 AM

flat head is a fish, you catch in a van down by the river

My first Hondo flatbottom was flat - my second one had a 5/8 step in the rear @ the cavitation plate.

Cole2534 09-16-2014 01:13 PM

Flat bottom is for bow fishing.

SB 09-16-2014 01:24 PM

Most thin naturally large chested girls have flat bottoms.

1000 islander 09-16-2014 01:25 PM

Picture walking down two sidewalks that are parallel to each other. They are both straight. The one on the left has no hill in it and its flat. The one on the right has a small rise so it has two steps in it. I lay a straight edge on the bottom of my 91 Fountain and its flat, not so with a 96. I hope both the flat bottomed Fountain and the stepped bottom Fountain have straight bottoms. Ok, back to work I go.

innerrage 09-16-2014 01:43 PM

flat bottom reminds of a jon boat for fishing

I don't like your attitude !

Flat bottom means flat bottom, as in like a boat that has no vee. They do exist. They do NOT call those style hulls straight bottoms. :champs:

Crude Intentions 09-16-2014 01:55 PM

Flat bottom is flat. V hull is v hull and there is straight or stepped. My opinion.

frickstyle 09-16-2014 03:00 PM

non-step "V" = what I have
stepped "V" = what I wish I had

GLH 09-16-2014 04:22 PM

This is true.

SB 09-16-2014 05:01 PM

Okay......do we call boats with large pads flat bottom ?

LOL. That should add fuel to the fire.

I agree Mike. I've always found that to be an erroneous description. If you want to look and run like a puzzy, your best bet is to get a Baja.

I see you have upgraded the $hit-stirring stick to the carbon fiber model Joe! Sweet!

What??? I would guess 99 percent of the poplulation here refers to them as flat heads. I know "flat head" is actually a type of fastner that can be any drive type, but I think it is officially slang to a slotted drive....loosen up lol. I have seen in print screw drivers labeled as "flat head screw drivers", it is what it is, you lost that battle.

4bus 09-18-2014 08:32 AM

I didn't want to be accused of having a "flat deck" http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1e8629f9.jpg
