Default Flat bottom or straight bottom

I keep hearing and seeing people refer to non stepped hulls, as flat bottoms. I don't like it. There is nothing flat about the bottom of a non stepped cigarette.

When I hear flat bottom, I think of little v drive boat or those square bow aluminum fishing boats .

It reminds me of a phillips head vs straight slot screwdriver. I hate it when people call them flat heads, just sounds stupid to me....

My first Hondo flatbottom was flat - my second one had a 5/8 step in the rear @ the cavitation plate.
