Default Speedmaster broken prop blade

Ever wonder where the prop blade goes after it flies off your prop. Check out a shot from my go pro. That is not a crescent moon but a blade from my prop.

If a go-pro does 24 frames a second like regular video, can you imagine how fast that bad boy was moving to get that high in 1/24th of a second!

No damage to the Talon, of course the prop is junk. The picture is amazing. The prop is replaceable but you are correct, getting hit with that piece of stainless steel could ruin your day. I always wondered where my tossed blades went. It was a long 2 hour idle back to the ramp.

Definetly one of the downsides of surface drives. Local guy threw a blade and insurance co told him it was a wear item which wasn't well received but the fact is they get a chit-ton of fatigue cycles and will fail at some point unless designed for infinite life. Most guys couldn't choke down the cost for infinite life design/materials.
But we all know...a big azz rooster tail is more than worth it!
