Just pull the heads with the engines in the boat. 8g is way too much for top end maintenance.

I was at 12K for the pair in the boat with all the parts (I posted about earlier), fluids, drive service, and a couple new sensors.

Agreed. I just did a pair for 8K. Pulled them out, took them down to short block, freshened the heads with springs, retainers, lock seals, ARP head bolts, Cometic head gaskets, rocker arms, etc, put them back in and test ran them. Includes Fel Pro intake gaskets, Cometic exhaust gaskets, tail pipe gaskets, Dex-cool, etc and pressure tested the headers and tails in the process. This was a pair of 525's in a 35 Fountain.

I've heard nothing but good things about the T&D, their shaft rockers are suppose to be the Cats A$$, Crower steel good choice, someone else mentioned Scorpion high endurence marine rockers, good luck

Merc used Crane Gold Rockers. They did some issues with them, overall the crane rocker is a decent piece. Crower Stainless rockers are very nice rocker arms. T&D shaft would be a little extreme, and unnecessary on a stock 525 build.

How about chrome moly steel rockers? I've seen them recommended on other forums for bbc.
