Default Need help with THEFT DETERENT SYSTEM.

So, I am trying to figure out what is the best system and still cost effective as well for my new boat. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the new DTS deterrent theft system from mercury yet? This seems pretty pricing up front but no monitor fees. Reduces the rpm's and allows you to track by gps and allows you to set perimeter fields as well. Priced around $3200.

The are also other systems such as GOST that seems to have good reviews with about $1500 up front fees with monitor monthly fees. I am trying to see what the best fit for my needs. Any input or other system that I might consider would be nice.

I would think any system that would tell you where your boat is the minute it moves but not behind your truck. And that allows the police to find it before it is stripped. A system that is a deterrent or nuisance is not going to work since the majority of stolen boats are cut up for parts. The Police will find a stripped hull.

This is the type of system I would want! Note the first comment:

No actually the boat was stolen from Jacksonville.... How do I know this??? It was my boat!!! Two Cubans that are here illegally and part of a boat theft ring... They admitted they steal the boats to run people and drugs...

We sell the GOST products and do a lot of them in S. FL,
They are very reliable and have a wide range of options.

Thanks for replies. Cool video to watch these POS get busted. But, something says the US. Slapped their hands and sent them back home to do it again...

The best theft deterrent is and will always be a boat cover with "Bayliner" in big contrasting letters.

I just researched the DTS & want to believe the entry level system is like $700 for the multi-engine 1 key fob ignition. $3200+ gets you also sorts of tracking & mapping options but I'm not sure you need to spend that much in order to protect your boat from thieves. I'm considering it b/c I don't want 3 keys & floaties hanging at my helm. The base system itself only allows the boat to be operated in a cripple mode w/o the actual fob inserted but I'm not sure what the max speed is in that mode.
