apples to oranges.......35 Sonic is how big (deduct the swim platform) and how big is a 38 Statement with the engines on the bracket 2 ft behind the boat?

I would say the 36' Statement also runs smoother than my boat. While yes it has a bit more running surface, it is not by a huge margin at all.

Some of these makers just know how to design a very efficient and well riding boat now.

Bill, I never said top brands would be easy or cheap to find especially as the economy (and boat building in general) slowed for several years leaving a much tighter used market. However their are a LOT more fisherman than their are performance enthusiasts looking for boats at any given time and just like Nor tech the Top brands command a premium. Sport boats in general are viewed as being driven hard

An alternative. CC with cabin, head, I/O's and fishes for salmon every summer. Just pull the sunpads and carpet and cushions.

As TheDonz pointed out some of these brands such as Yellowfin and Invincible will run with the Go Fast brand for speed and rough water. Just trying to get feedback, thanks.
i had a 36 invincible. great boat, love alix and his crew. but, i must say, going faster than 60 MPH or so, fuel economy was better in my cigarette and skater, not to mention that if you are in rough water, the ride quality is a bit rough, but the main complaint i had (and moreso from ladies, is the wind in the face and lack of space to sit while underway.

if you want a cc, i would highly recommend invincible over the rest. do the research and i'm sure you will agree. the 42 is amazing. after riding in it, it became VERY difficult to find the same enjoyment in my "little" 36 (1 ft narrower and 6' shorter = appx. 1/3 smaller :-(

hope this helps!

Look at what happened to Jayboat in a performance CC this year. That guy is experienced as you can get for a passenger and that accident would have been a lot harder to have happen in a sport boat.
You may be right but Jay's accident was partly do to driver error. I never put people in the front of my CC during a fun/poker run everyone gets a seat or they don't go.
