My bad, crappy caption. Fixed now.

And you're right ... given some of the paint work that's out there, that green is relatively subdued. :)

Story update: While triple 300-hp Verado outboards will be "standard power" for the boat, its first sea trials will be with quad 300-hp Verados.

Wildman_grafix 10-04-2014 10:44 AM

hmmmmm 1200 hp in a 39,,,, how much do they think the final wet weight will be?

Comanche3Six 10-04-2014 11:00 AM

Hearing in the 13k range rigged & full of fuel, the 1st sea trial is hull only no deck, temp helm & ballast that can be moved around.

I want to believe it's 10' 8" beam.

44MTI 10-04-2014 12:56 PM

Yes 10' 8" beam

Boat is Infused Expoxy with Carbon Reinforcement

We will have updated information, pics and video's later next week.

If all goes as planned and we receive the few misc items needed we will be testing on Wednesday afternoon. We are anticipating a very smooth, solid ride and respectable speeds.

Thank you for looking

Price range?

NASCAT 10-04-2014 08:36 PM

Not exactly sure but from what I understand it comes very well equipped at base price. Triple 300's, dual 8215 Garmins, vessel view, kickass stereo, bow thruster, fresh & raw wash down, transom shower and more.

Options are rear facing loungers (pwr I believe) A/C, Generator, TV, Radar, FLIR ETC

.

Luvin' the looks of this boat!

Just curious,

From the development perspective, why are the 4 outboards on the hull before the deck is on?

My guess is that if you are marketing a brand new model w/o any test or performance figures & expect to debut 2 complete boats at the Miami BS then time is of the essence to see how she performs not to mention be able to apply any necessary changes before they get to far down the road w/ this hull or any subsequent hulls.

My understanding is that they have pre-sold 8 boats already.

This quote was in Matt's article: "With everything that's happening at Mystic with the new center console, the new 40 and another new boat, moving forward the Pier 57 staff and I will be committing all of our time and resources to Mystic exclusively," he added.

So it appears Pier 57, is no longer carries new Cigs/MTIs?

That is correct ... by mutual agreement of all parties involved.

NASCAT 10-05-2014 10:52 AM

If I'm not mistaken Cigarette has changed it's business model to where there are no longer any stocking dealers. Cig sets the sale price & the dealer receives a fixed commission. There must be a method to their madness but if I were a dealer I'd find it difficult to represent & sell a brand that doesn't allow me to stock anything, which eliminates any ability to demo a boat not to mention absorb a trade.

MTI sells factory direct, once again making it difficult for any dealer to justify stocking a boat or positioning themselves as an exclusive dealer.

Since the economy crash I think the business model has changed for both the manufacturers & the dealers of which we all know only a handful have weathered the storm.

From Matt's write up it sounds as if the deal between Pier 57 & Mystic has been in the works for some time. It has to be be mutually beneficial to both parties or I don't think they'd have made it this far down the road. I commend them for venturing out there & introducing new models in this environment. I think it speaks volumes about their confidence in both the product & the markets demand for such models.

I say Best of Luck to all involved!

Four outboards! Reminds me of those five engine sled pull tractors at the county fair...

Anyone want to venture a guess on the top speed?

That was a reference to "Spaceballs" the movie. "ludicrous" speed is really fockin fast!

Nice looking boat, hope it does well for them.

Are the molds heated to help move the epoxy along ?

Jupiter Sunsation 10-05-2014 08:43 PM

Shogren surely has seen every offering out there, knows the performance numbers/ price points so he surely should be able to deliver exactly what the end user would want!

From what I understand the M3900 will introduce some industry first amenities.

Anxiously awaiting some sea trial results from today's inaugural SPLASHDOWN!

NASCAT 10-08-2014 09:03 PM

Heard they got a late start today so testing should resume in the AM.

MYSTIC3900 CC Test

9 Attachment(s)
We had to wait for a few pieces from Mercury that arrived late. Although it putt us behind it did get us to the water at dusk so we nonetheless checked all systems, filled fuel with 325 gallons and added ballast for testing tomorrow. We want to be 15-16k pounds while testing. The short runs we made were fantastic and only took up to 70 once with no trim. We are making some minor mods in set up in AM and then further testing and detail, We were very happy with the lines on the water which follow the traditional MYSTIC lines. We will keep all posted thru Matt Trullio.

Impressive!!

5:09AM, looks like you are getting an early start this AM.

Matt T, don't leave us hanging!!!!

SS930 10-09-2014 06:28 AM

15k-16k? I would think you'd be hard pressed to get that boat that heavy in a 'finished' boat.

The hull looks great guys!

NASCAT 10-09-2014 06:43 AM

Agreed but my guess is it's better to test beyond the recommended capacity & have some safety margin built into the boat. Clearly this is going to be a performer & head turner come Miami Boat Show.

Looks Beautiful in the water. Can't wait to see the finished product.
