I'm not sure if it's considered "off shore", but me and a buddy never missed going out to the Battle on the Bay races they put on here on Long Islands great south bay. Getting there early and seeing the boats warming up and taking some practice runs before the event was always a good time. I still smile when I recall getting a few thumbs up from the guys driving the race boats when they saw my little Donzi cruising around. One of my favorite memories comes from the day after one particularly snotty sunday at the race when on this board and a few others some of the guys in much bigger go fasts were talking about how rough it was and how a few even left their boats out there and got them the next day, and all me and my buddy could talk about was the blast we had on the ride home to the Babylon area that day. Wish they'd get that going again, going to a race in your own boat is a good time.
