Well, the equipment is certainly competitive. Now, who can write the check and actually be able to handle it professionally?

I'd sure love to see a team owner of another motor sport step up and find a corporate sponsor.
I've always wondered why there aren't more big corps looking into powerboat racing.
Some more corporate banners in the field would be awesome.
The more billboards competing always helps any motorized competition events in both awareness and the racing too.
See ya

The ROI is terrible......nobody watches offshore racing. Sponsor a car in Nascar and you get all sorts of coverage and the car drives in circles never leaving the camera's view. Offshore boat racing usually doesn't even get a picture of the winning boat on page 4 of the sports section.
Look at Key West......biggest event in offshore racing. Enter XYZ sponsor and how many people see it 20,000? Geico races but then attends boat shows/trade shows and that green boat reinforces the brand shown on the TV commercials.....the race sponsorship is a drop in the bucket of what Geico spends for advertising.

Iimagine a commentator on NBC sports or ESPN as he tries to explain the boat classes, sanction bodies and why a boat is running for the so called worlds championship yet it hasn't won previously that year.
