It's kind of funny that a lot of the people that will gleefully swing from the Mercury Engineer coin purse are the same people that would criticize a home built 502 with aftermarket heads, roller cam, EFI, and header exhaust system for "only" making 525 horsepower.

If you want to buy the factory valve cover gaskets at $93 each I have about 10 sets I'll cut you a deal on. Mercury knows best!

$103.60 a pair at Bam. Better but still not cheap.

Man I thought I over paid for the ones I bought off ebay $10. That have been on 3 different motors. Off and on I don't know how many times adjusting valves. Never a drop of oil out of them. But I guess Mercury does know how to best pick money out of your pocket.

Same here. I got some very nice victor reinz valve cover gaskets from ebay. list price 50 bucks a pair. I think I paid like 20 bucks. If I was buying them through one of the high performance MARINE parts vendors...it prob go like this
