That's a funny colour for Kevlar.

Is the old Talbot Excavating cat up for sale or will it be raced by another team?

The black CNC'd pieces are standoff mounts for the outboards, they bolt between the midsection and the jackplate.

The stainless plates with welded washers bolt on to the outside of the jackplates to lock them into position. They replace the older fender washer setup that has been used for years.

.

what is the basic purpose of the black unit? is it to increase distance between engine and the transom, like a spacer?

also, what if there is no jackplate used with the outboard ? Can the black unit still be used between engine and transom??
