5000 rpm at WOT @ 50 mph is all it would do.... Definitely needs more prop due to the drive gear ratio.
No idea of HP.. Previous owner had it built by a circle track engine guy and had no idea what it consists of.
I've gone as far as running a couple part / casting numbers.. 454 block. 781 heads 850 Vacuum secondary carb. HEI distributer and lightning headers.
He remembered that they had a custom Comp Cams roller cam and roller rockers... It does have a nasty sounding idle...
I have an M4 Procharged 555 in the works but will probably be 6 months or so 'till I have the funds to finish it. so the 454 will go back in for a bit.

No disrespect to Speedracer, but this is the perfect time to do the bottom. with the motor, drive and gimble all off the boat you have taken half thee weight of the boat away, so its the perfect time to flip it over and start longboarding. Pantera is basically the same boat and they have stated many times that the hull should have no hook or rocker. Also a higher X will have the drive less deep and this mean less leverage for lateral torque.

He's got a valid point, there! I'm the "change one thing at time" type, but you're going to be changing the drive, X, transom, motor, etc, might as well get rid of the hook. Make sure the strakes and transom edge are nice and sharp, too.

Thanks for the replies
Trying something different with this project.. Getting quotes to have someone else do the work...
Thus far, the best quote I got is $4000 to do the transom and removed the hook...

Have an 83' 548ci 630hp xr drive. I have tried a 4 blade rh 28and 26 4 blade bravo labbed and a 27 rh mirage 3 blade. The fastest prop was the 27 all props make the boat list. I trim the drive just until i see a small rooster tail and set the tab even on the starboard and down a little more on the port side. I can pull up both tabs and go a little faster but the hull is not as stable. Best speed with the 27 is 79.9 with a little less then a quarter tank. I was told not sure if true or not an extension box will make the hull faster. I think the list is the torque of the motor but im not an expert. I was thinking of trying a lh prop. The propshaft is about 3 1/2 below the keel the 27 slips pretty good out of the hole and takes a little patience to get on plane. I turned the 26 to 5400rpm the 28 to 5100 and the 27 to 5200rpm.

A lot of your list is most likely from that gear ratio and giant prop.
I remember riding in a big block Donzi back in the day that was swinging a big prop.
You would hammer it and that thing would practically rail up 15 degrees all the way to its top end.
