Lightbulb Dockrocker's quote!

Dockrocker,

The quote you have below your posts by the honorable Theodore Roosevelt is SO VERY TRUE! I cannot THANK YOU enough for posting it. I have for years been saying that you are either AMERICAN or something else. You may be of some other descent, but you are an AMERICAN FIRST AND FOREMOST! If you you wish to be known as otherwise then go live somewhere else!

Thank you sir for your loyalty and patriotism.

Thumbs up

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. For an American citizen to vote as a German-American, an Irish-American, or an English-American, is to be a traitor to American institutions; and those hyphenated Americans who terrorize American politicians by threats of the foreign vote are engaged in treason to the American Republic. -- Theodore Roosevelt, 1915

I love it, It's Perfect!

I've never heard of someone calling themselves an English-American or an Irish-American or even a German-American. Must have been something they did way back when...

There are exceptions to every rule.

Heres a question:
Why is it that all these groups put the "American" after the hyphen? All except for the American Indians who arguably have the biggest beef with this country.
