Here is a problem...see if OSO can solve it lol.

So I am not able to make it down to the keys for the poker run and the races. It is too much time off work sadly due to something else that is a must this month. I came to terms with it and it sucked cause I had a ride in the poker run with some great people and friends.

Well they call me today and say their friend is flying out of Clearwater tomorrow to the races till Fri night...AWSOME...perfect.

About 10 min ago I was called by the guy who is serious about buying my boat. He is a very busy biz owners and our schedules never seem to workout. Well he said he is free Sat for sure and has to see the boat in person.

Problem is now work. I was told take off Fri for the races or Sat for the boat.....but not both. If I take both I will be looking for a new job as well.

So....how do I go to the keys, sell the boat, and be at work on Sat?

Anyone got a cloning machine?

phragle 11-05-2014 11:11 AM

just call work and tell them you have ebola.

Lol...I wish.

They are standing pretty firm on this one and I am less than thrilled about it but that is a whole other problem and thread.

Mr Maine 11-05-2014 11:22 AM

In 20 years looking back you will be glad you did both at the cost of your job because the new job you got was way better anyway....

jeff32 11-05-2014 11:23 AM

Clear! Saturday off to sell the boat so you can buy another one and enjoye it for the next available to you poker run!

If the guy said he is 100% buying the boat I would be all over it.

Looking for a new job anyway but if he does not buy and I am out of work. That equals a big Oh Sh*T!

As of right now this is the plan.

Just reallllly want to get down to the keys for the fun and friends. If I only get one though it is sell the boat.

jvcobra 11-05-2014 11:37 AM

Go to the races, if he's really serious about wanting the boat he can wait a few more days. If not probably a tire kicker.

575cat 11-05-2014 11:44 AM

He wont show up anyways !!!!!!!!

I leave in a week for California for a bit. So really if it is not this week it prob won't be ill after thanksgiving with my schedule and his.

We have been trying to get this meeting for 2.5 weeks now.

PigNaPoke 11-05-2014 11:49 AM

Put in your two weeks. But you should have done it the moment they started the silly sh*t.

Best feeling ever. If you aren't financially able to do that I'd be working on getting there.

Good luck hope to see you in keywest.

Not in a place to do that without taking out retirement funds from Raymond James. I don't think that is a good idea.

Trust me if I could have left this place without a job in line I would have a while ago.

Could be right, could be wrong.

We will see either way.

Smitty 11-05-2014 11:54 AM

Key West will be there next year and you most likely will be able to hop a ride with someone then.

Stay home and sell the boat. With the boat market being what it is, you should be jumping at the chance to move it......

scarab63 11-05-2014 12:09 PM

This is what I call a ""rich white guy problem"".
If this is your lifes biggest turmoil stop to think how cool it is.

I have these issues all the time. Today. Should I buy a second truck to tow my boat with that's 4x4 with a plow that's more practical but I don't love, or a 2wd dually as a dedicated tow rig that's sweet.......

The other day it was , when ordering alien cowls for my o.b. should I get white and match the lowers or stick with black? ....rich white guy problem. ....lol

I use "rich" for anyone who can afford a boat. I assume "white" cuz this after all is OSO.

good luck. I'd sell.

Job is still the asset as of now, boat is liability (but fun).

Wouldn't that suk !

And yes, the % chance of that happening without knowing the people involved is huge !

He is a friend of a very close friend and a local biz owner close to me. I think the chances of him showing are high but there is always a chance they can't for some reason too.

I do know for a fact money is not an issue in this deal at all which is nice when you want a buyer.

This whole post made me lol.......I know it is a tough "problem" to have. If you even want to call it that.

And yes...I am white lol.

12meter joe 11-05-2014 01:20 PM

Sell the boat. Hit the keys next year along with the race in marathon in july! I wouldn't do that but, its the smartest move! lol

Line up the possible sale of the boat, Key West and the fun associated can be had at another time. Life is like a mullet, business first (up front), party second (in the back)

If the guy really wants the boat, he will still be there.. unless the guy said he's bringing a surveyor and/or checkbook on Saturday; I'd go to the keys..

You could be right but if I was the buyer and was told to wait after waiting 2 weeks plus for this day. I would be rather upset.

The keys thing was on the fly not planned or else ya, my trip comes first. I have been trying to get our schedules to work to show the boat for a bit now and as I said I leave for out of town next week too for a while. So this really is the only weekend till prob first week of Dec.

I agree buddy. Let's hope it all goes smooth and he like it as much as he does in pics, if so it is a big home run.

Nate,

Call the buyer, tell him you will meet him in key west on Saturday for a full day of sea trial, trailer the boat.....spend the day with him running the boat in key west, juice him up, sell the boat.......he trailers it back home, you stay and enjoy Saturday night and Sunday.....see, problem solved, lol.............if life were that simple...........but it is...........

Dukedonzi 11-05-2014 04:26 PM

Yup, smart thing to do is sell the boat first... or at least try...

12meter joe 11-05-2014 04:54 PM

And then save me a spot in the new ride :D

Good luck on your decision!

Interceptor 11-05-2014 04:58 PM

You will forever kick yourself in the a$$ three years from now when you still own the boat because you went to the races. Then again he may no show or not buy it. I wish I had your dilema vs. what I'm doing this weekend.

HyFive578 11-05-2014 05:02 PM

OK, I'm with everyone else now.. skip the Keys... good luck with the sale... hope everything works out for you..

Nate5.0 11-05-2014 05:08 PM

Thanks guys.

Have a boat lined up thanks to the help of some members here too if the sale does go through.

Fingers crossed. Anyone in the Keys have a beer for me.

Bobthebuilder 11-05-2014 05:37 PM

Here is what I would do Nate. I'm forever trying to pack more into a day or a weekend than I should. Try and set up the showing / demo of the boat for as early Saturday morning as you can then catch an early afternoon flight to KW, party like a rock star Saturday evening, watch the races on Sunday and fly back home Sunday evening. Problem solved. If you can't find a room for Saturday night you are welcome to sleep on Team PREDATOR for nothing. Just bring your own sheets. You will have access to all of the Galleon's facilities free of charge. There your problem is solved if you can find flights that work. Good luck and let me know.

Bob

Nate5.0 11-05-2014 05:37 PM

Bob

If this deal works out I will take you on that offer for sure. Actually that sounds more fun than anything else so far.

Thank you!

Drew555 11-05-2014 05:38 PM

I would take Friday off. Then Friday night call in BLIND to work. When your boss asks what do you mean blind? Tell him yes blind, I can't see myself coming in today

Nate. Sell the boat.. I will forward this thread to your work (accidently.. :) ) so that issue is solved for you. YOu won't have to worry about the work stuff. They will know you'r "looking".. lol ... Easy solution. OSO took care of it for yaaa.

(Sell the boat)

I have a different problem. My schedule changed and NOW I could make it to KW, but there is no hotel in site.
