What engine are you guys running? (If you cannot or do not want to tell me I understand) How is your water injection system set up? Is it injected pre-compressor for the compressor wash? I am interested in learning more about the compressor washing. To think more HP is desired/requested out of the jet engine, it is very impressive and scary at the same time when it comes to a marine application.

You're welcome. Coking is also a problem with turbine engines and oil as well.

We are running T53's and the water is injected pre compressor at the intake.

I will need to look for it but I have a placard out of either a 441 or 425 Cessna that reads "engines modified for operation with 100LL" the 441's have garrets and the 425's have pratts, both work on the same principle. I prefer to face the intake forward and tie it directly to what I'm doing myself. Aircraft use a turbine stuck to the nose or the front of each wing.. lots of cooling. Boats do not have this option.. That said it sounds like the engine itself was not the culprit but more the peripherals..

from what I have heard for years is that in a pinch you can refill the boat with a mixture of diesel and gas being for every 100 gallons added you put 75 gallons of diesel and 25 gallons of regular

We did up to that 25% gas for years mostly 15% gas when our trucks would fuel in GA or SC and come back to the yard in NJ during the dead of winter the drivers had to fuel up before they parked so they would get blended fuel in the tank and not freeze up. You know some did not and the next day the truck would start run 10 minuutes and gel up. Fastest way to thaw it out mix in some gas, change filters and away she went!
