Default Another Oil Pump Thread Oh know

Melling is debuting a new oil pump at the this PRI show called Shark oil pump / Shark tooth oil pump. Look at the new design if you can google info about it maybe. Melling sends me their info & news directly so that's how I got all the info about it. Looks like a very nice piece and should work well.

Oh man!!!!! I just put my helmet and safety glasses on for this thread.

I did see that pump on the web somewhere. Helical cut gears in it...looks interesting. The said less power loss and smoother operation. If anything, they should be quieter! Dam noisy oil pumps. I just hope they arent' using Bravo XR gears in them.

What will you really gain? Is it worth the risk to be part of the Melling endurance testing team?

have no idea but here is the info maybe an improvement. I am sure melling tested it in apps beforehand with whomever engine builder(s) or however.

i wonder if this pump will make my engines ok with 0w20 oil!

Yes, but you need to change rotational speed by ΠRē or you will run into uncontrollabe oil sling patterns truncated by indispensible oil waveform splatter.
