T Top and windshield configurations make a hugh differance on speeds with Center Console's. I run with a 38 donzi cc and a 39 cig topfish with trip 300's we are all within a 1 or 2 mph of each other around 68-70 mph.

557's are nice but to heavy and too expensive. With Merc 350/400 now its makes for a easy decision. Dealer network for Mercury much better.

I believe a CC weighs about 1/3 more than the like sized speedboat. usually a full liner (with lined compartments under that) then the console/T-Top-HardTop etc, and not really aero friendly...

Check out the thickness of the Nor-Tech deck floor & gunwale cap. Things such as this really caught my attention during my first Nor-Tech facility visit. Construction details like this must contribute to the boats solid rough water capabilities. Also speaks volumes about the hulls efficiency based on the speeds they see.

You need 3 400 MERCS to enhance your boating experience !

Sy- if you can insure my boat w/ Triple Merc 400's w/ identical coverage & for the same premium as the Merc 350's I'll think about it!

They are built like brick crap houses. Not a single creak, moan, groan, etc. from any component on the boat running in the LOTO slop. You can tell they are all built to run offshore to the canyons even though many will never leave inland lakes.

It's been said that they can even tame Lake Erie. . . . .

I can't answer that w/ 100% accuracy but appears to be glass. I know they do some kevlar reinforcing in the hull around the stringers.

Maybe Terry or Mark can chime in.
