Yes that's what I've been told, same principal as the trailer torsion axles.

Your question / concern is valid.
Here's my theory; a NT-390 on a trailer w/ 1/2 tank of fuel weighs approx 16,000lbs.
GMC advertises their Class V hitch towing capacity @ 20,000lbs & suggests a 10-15% tongue weight.
I've never been able to achieve 10% tongue weight w/ any boat I've owned including my 34' Nor-Tech.
Lets assume I can, that would be approx 1600lbs on the ball on a floating torsion hitch so I'm not only under the receivers suggested max tongue rating of 2000lbs but I also have a hitch that is absorbing the load and dampening the leverage you have raised concern about.
The GenY hitch has quite a long 2.5" x 2.5" solid shank w/ 2 hitch pin options, I believe it's in as far as it will go in the pics but I'm not 100% sure which hole, I just installed it and pinned it for the pics.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not a Mechanical Engineer, so this is just my hypothesis :cool-smiley-027:

I'd say that's a logical hypothesis. I may try something similar because I'm lacking tongue weight when towing the Tiger to the point of losing traction when accelerating at speed, even up to 50 mph. (think max pucker factor)

If you purchase a GenY Torsion hitch, you'll gain 75lbs tongue weight instantly assuming your current ball mount weighs about 25lbs.

I considered the Shocker Hitch too but it's only rated up to 16k which is marginal based on my package so in order to get 20k capacity I was opting for a pintle mount coupler design.
Unfortunately the airbag then interferes w/ the lowering of the tailgate so it was a no go (unless you have a lifted truck or drop hitch). The Shocker Hitch has the airbag below the receiver so no issue w/ it.

I think I like the torsion hitch better. Always been a fan of Torflex axles so may as well have the matching set.

Definitely a cleaner package but weighs quite a bit more as is it quite a bit more costly than the Shocker.
I had a concern about an air bag failure and or vandalism / sabotage.
Definitely would be screwed although I'm told an air bag can be replaced in the field fairly easily.

CashBar tows his 32 Skater w/ a Shocker and has been really pleased w/ it.

Hitch tightener...

NASCAT, I highly advice investing in one of these for your hitch setup too:

I've tried a slew of hitch tightener devices over the years, and this one is the best one I've come across. I've turned several other folks onto them as well, as I actually have a couple of them. Eventually the square bolt turns into a U-bolt, and you have to replace.

Michael, did you ever weigh one of your 340’s on the trailer?
passing through a weigh station is on my list of to do’s. Need to get the permit stuff in place for a keys trip (they are strict in Monroe Cnty)

The most impressive part of your post is that your dealer sent you pics of your build :)

Sydwayz- Great tip!

Mine is not pictured but I did purchase one b/c I get tired of hearing the clunking around unloaded over bumps, coming to stops and taking off from stops.

You and I have already had the dealer experience conversation.
John Kray & Sportboats are top notch, he never compalins about taking pics and often sends me them on his own since he's at NT about weekly.

With regard to boat / trailer weights see attached

2 diff NT 340's both on Evolution Trailers w/ 1/2 tank of fuel, weight of the trailer w/o boat, weight including my then 2014 Chevy Silverado 3500 (not sure how much fuel was in truck but I believe FULL since that would have been worse case scenario)

The weight tickets dated 2016 would be a slightly heavier 340 (different options) & slightly heavier trailer (dual spare wheels and tires + a toolbox)

Whats sad is I can't find one NT 390 owner w/ a weight ticket, nor could the factory provide me w/ any combined boat trailer weights for a triple engine 390. I was told 15,750 w/ 175 gals fuel by an owner thru a post on FB but thats it.

So if you add the extra weight for the larger trailer and larger boat, are you going to be over 26,000 lbs?
