Default 36' Spectre Question?

Wondering what this boat can handle as far as wave heights comfortably? Always had v hulls, but thinking of switching to a cat. Seems like a very fast boat with mild power. Just don't know if this boat is good for the Atlantic swells, down in Florida. See all lot of them on videos, in mostly pretty calm conditions. Just don't want my wife hitting me in the head to much when we are airborne, starts hurting after a while. LOL

We raced one on the US Offshore circuit in C class, was a great boat. Flew nice, built very well, won us a National Championship. Great in the big water.

Saris, did your 36 have the pod? I understand they built a few without one

A buddy had a couple 36's. The one with the pod. I wouldn't recommend any big water with a pod. It tends to come down and slap the aft portion of the hull creating a fairly jolting ride. We ran it a couple times in the pacific but mostly on Havasu. Great boats, lotta fun. I'd own one in a heartbeat just wouldn't expect too much big water comfort.

Here's a video I shot of one of the boats in Havasu.

Do anyone have a pic of what the 36 Spectre looks like with and without the pod?

I dont know about big swells,my guess is that the boat would like it. Mine likes the short choppy waves Lake st Clair has to offer. You just dont need the Rev limiter with you .Boat is very dry as well.

Jamesgang thanks for the pic. If I am correct your spectre has the pod in back? How do you like the boat? What type of power and top speed?
