pocket depth

Does anyone else notice that when some with deep pockets ask a question or for help how many responses there are as apposed to when average people look for help? If you look through the different areas many go completely unanswered, but if a well connected person poses a question people seem to be tripping over their dinks to answer first. Am I all wet wet here or is this just the way it is? :poopoo:

vintage chromoly 01-17-2015 07:54 PM

Is there a way to quantify another's pocket depth?

buck35 01-17-2015 08:06 PM

Mic or folding rule I guess. Btw did you find said tools you were looking for? I may have some.

No. Many people who obviously do not have deep pockets have received help.

You might be rite with the deep pockets.
Next time you need something answered start it off with I have deep pockets. JK but I had to LOL

SB 01-17-2015 08:39 PM

I think you are all wet.

Try cutting the end of your pockets so you can reach in and scratch yourself privately.

People will treat you better than if they see you outwardly grab yourself.

Not so much me but ive seen quite a few good questions asked by others that just got crickets.

14 apache 01-17-2015 08:44 PM

Some don't want to give secrets about transmissions and drives. I have seen this.

Pockets. ?. Didn't you know we all roam around naked in the nw

chris21hope 01-17-2015 08:58 PM

I've noticed that there are some pretty popular guys here who get loads of responses whenever they post when others don't. Many of the popular guys also happen to have deep pockets, but I've also seen some other guys that don't. Your question isn't a bad one, but I'm not sure there's a correlation....

Slippery 01-17-2015 09:22 PM

Hmmmm,
I'm pretty new here and don't know anyone on here personally and every time I've asked a question I've gotten great responses.
However, I haven't asked "why is the sky blue" and I try and search previous post for answers to my questions first.
I dunno how anyone determines the depth of ones pockets.
Just my 02 and your mileage may vary

MichiMike 01-17-2015 09:29 PM

I usually say whats on my mind, more than my money worth:bong:

Lets add a visual... I do not have deep pockets, see attached pics. These jeans are use less. More then half my iPhone hangs out the top and would not stay in, keys fall out too.

Ya but you build the most expensive extension boxes I ever seen.

buck35 01-17-2015 10:54 PM

Ok maybe this was a dumb question but still several good answers, fact remains a lot of good questions get passed over for one reason or another.

Your musings brighten my day.

Cole2534 01-17-2015 11:33 PM

Buck, I don't think pocket depth strictly correlates to response count. Some folks are just better st drawing attention, positive or otherwise, to themselves.

Look at Gino, that guy is pretty dang amusing, but so are the trials and tribulations of Tim, Full Force.

phragle 01-18-2015 01:21 AM

May pockets are the anti-deep... hell I think I walk around with rabbit ears, more so when I was back in school. I have always gotten plenty of help and have always been treated well with who I have net in person.

You might not have "deep pockets" as you have so well demonstrated, but they sure are PERTY with that fine designer lining!:drink:

jtbooten 01-18-2015 05:58 AM

I agree with Slippery.

Maybe I haven't paid attention to such post and I'm not saying this doesn't go on... My last few post, plenty of responses and helpful feed back. My pockets are far from deep! A lot could depends on member's past post and attitude? Use common sense and don't be rude. My $.02...

Craney 01-18-2015 06:09 AM

I don't know if it's deep pockets or respect, there's guys on here like Mike Tkach, Fixx, Rm builder, Grff, Sdwayz and others that people on here have a lot of respect for. I don't know how deep their pockets are, but if any of these guys needed anything a lot of people would try to help out.

thirdchildhood 01-18-2015 06:25 AM

Stop wearing girl's pants. :bunny:

the guys craney mentioned and quite a few others ask very few questions. they are too busy answering them. a lot of pocket depth is revealed by the questions themselves. "if i change my mark twain from 305 to 350 will it go faster?" a question like that reveals pocket depth and how close to the bottom of the gene pool the (hypothetical in this case) OP is swimming. he will get the sarcastic insulting answers he deserves. and stupid people rarely have deep pockets. other people will ask reasonable intelligent questions about low perf stuff that still deserves an answer and many others besides the OP can use the answers. they usually will get some kind of response. and sometimes it is the person trying to answer something he has no real knowledge about that draws the ire of people on this site. because when you answer a question here, somebody who needs that info can google the question and get your answer right off without having to search OSO files. and a stupid answer is way worse than a stupid question.

phragle 01-18-2015 07:19 AM

The perceived or actual ability to rtff inquest of answers before asking can have an impact.....

such as turning the 330hp 454 into a fire breathing monster using JC Whitney parts...

39 Unlimited 01-18-2015 07:49 AM

One of the dumbest threads ever.

Ask a good question and you'll get a good answer.

This has been my experience.

Sydwayz 01-18-2015 12:38 PM

We were so poor growing up, that I cut holes in my pockets so I had something to play with.

I believe this is where the peg-rolling-pants trend of the 80's came from.

I still peg-roll my pants to this day so I don't looks my keys and my phone.

... And it still didn't save your parents any money, because they had to pay for eye exams and prescription glasses soon after the pocket holes developed.... You're lucky you're not blind!

phughes69 01-18-2015 01:10 PM

I have deep pockets, but they are filled with pocket lint:hitfan::hitfan:

payuppsucker 01-18-2015 03:23 PM

I'm not in total disagreement with you Buck but I've been very fortunate to have had an extremely good number of quality responses from every question or concern I've ever posted and my pockets aren't deep. I think it has more top do with how you ask your question and probably how you've responded to other members posts. Let's face it, there are some broke azz diks on here and some diks that have "deep pockets". Point being the diks won't get much response. And if you're a dik and don't know that you are one don't worry, we do.

akaboatman 01-18-2015 03:40 PM

I have deep pockets. No money sence my fall. Not that I had much then. But I do miss what I had' an walking. But I do keep my deep pockets with a 1$ Lottery in it just incase it explodes. That could be fun. Artie

It's not what you have, it's what you do with what you have.

That's my poor mans motto as Im just a blue collar guy playing in a rich mans playground. :ernaehrung004:

buck35 01-18-2015 04:10 PM

Like I said before its not about me , I love reading all the various threads and learning from others questions and the answers that come. Ive piped in on a few just to keep them alive to see what I could glean from it .Many of you know each other and I get that , I met met a couple people on here while in Florida last fall, other than that I live in the middle of nowhere boat wise. I certainly wasnt attempting to call anyone out as there is a ton of great info here, i guess you just have to sqeeze to get it sometimes.

thirdchildhood 01-18-2015 05:45 PM

Well, for one thing, don't ask about oil. Don't ask how long a Bravo drive will last. I'm sure there are some other topics. (Yay, Seahawks!)
