Glad to hear that he has remained in remission - I have followed this story closely, as I am a transplant coordinator at a major cancer facility in Tampa, with our highest transplant population being Multiple Myeloma.
The Hutch is a great place as well - our new program director came to us from there. It's a top notch facility.
I hope that he is now on the road to feeling healthier and stronger and that his MM will remain in remission for years to come.
Best Wishes

Plans are to get Doug prepped for another trip to Seattle. I believe he has an appointment with his original doctor next week.
Doug had to fire this last doctor!
He couldn't answer many of Doug's questions. He will be in much better hands now...

I just received this email from Leeanne:

Hi,
Doug is gravely ill and back in the hospital. This AM they did a liver biopsy. After numerous tests this past week something showed up on an x-ray. No one is sure yet what we're dealing with this time. It could be nothing or something. They discontinued his chemo because it isn't working any longer. The docs said that his cancer treatment will be secondary to this new acute liver problem. Once that is dealt with, they'll resume with new meds. He also has what appears to be thrush. By Wednesday we should know more. Please, remember him in your prayers. He needs them now more than ever.
Thank you.
Leeanne
Godspeed Doug! My prayers are with you.....
