No....but they were able to take advantage of "half price apps".

edit after finding video:

Video - http://www.wfla.com/story/28195561/b...kin-restaurant
Looks like they were trying to give minor movements as the boat was extracted.
not a huge drop if the boat slid out of its sling but I would think the act definitely merits "high risk" pay.....or just plain dumb??

3rd edit - Just plain dumb!

I am not crane operator but I don't think there is an ability to adjust side to side when using spreader bars?

it's suspended

No chit. The OSHA investigator is going to take a month off with his bonus.
This story keeps getting better and better.

Speaking of the silt fence - I work for Ferguson. I don't know if this is good publicity or bad......

I don't know how it is in Florida, but in NJ the crane operator is licensed, insured and fully culpable in a Court of Law. He has the final say Go/NoGo. Worked with/not for Casey Crane Rigging for years..A professional rigging company. So seeing this kind of jackassery amazes me.

Imagine how Terex feels about seeing one of their Rough Terrain cranes in a compromising photo like this.

Started the engine, turned on the running lights and followed the compass heading slowly to shore (many hours later)
No panic, but certainly no high speed nonsense.

Ed - Same thing happened to us off OC MD years back in a 35 Cigarette. We only had a compass and a depth finder. We SLOWED up. stayed due South, kept an eye out for the beach and the fishing pier and knew the inlet was about 1,200 feet south of the pier on the starboard side. Made it home safe, no scratches on the Cigarette and no restaurants injured!

Incredibly stable at rest, enjoy restaurant quality dining at your fingertips with A/C on the foredeck. Visa and MasterCard processing readily available, tipping appreciated. The waiter will be available as soon as the netters retrieve him from running down the highway.

Jupiter Sunsation 02-26-2015 05:53 AM

Never left in water overnight!

They went to Tony Beets School of crane operators.

At GM that would never fly.
